Arranging Kennels at Home
If you have a lot of dogs around, it can get pretty messy around your home. Rags and floor cleaners are oftentimes not enough to clean the whole house. Leashes and collars are also very weak measures to control the elimination of dogs. At this point, kennels are recommended for homes with many dogs.
Kennels should be placed outside the home, but within the fences. This is to keep your pets safe without having to see your interiors very messy. Your kennels should be made of sturdy material, such as stainless steel. Materials like this do not rust immediately. It should also have a secure lock and a stable roof to protect your dogs. Plastic mats should be positioned on the floors of your kennels, with a metal tray below to sift urine and faecal matter. You may place their food bowls, and hang their water feeders so that they still get nourished.
Your kennels should be positioned in an area where there is adequate ventilation, such as in your garden where plants and trees are abundant. During rainy days, make it a point to adequately cover your kennels to protect your dogs from the sudden temperature change. When the weather is too hot, however, allow your dogs to breathe fresh air. Some breeds, such as Siberian Huskies, cannot thrive too long on hot temperatures.
Make it a point to allow your dogs to play outside. Depending on the breed and size, they need about 15 to 30 minutes of exercise daily. After all, they deserve to play after being kept inside their kennels. Even while they are inside their crates, you can still put some pet supplies such as toys and rawhides for their convenience and leisure.
